January 7th, 2012 – Sea Day
Day 2
Just down the hall and out the door and we are on the promenade which goes all the way around the ship and is the preferred morning exercise path – 3.5 laps per mile, and we are going to try to do two miles every morning.
Then off to breakfast and a talk on the up coming ports of call.
The talk covered the history of the Caribbean focusing on colonization by England, Spain, Portugal, France, Holland, Denmark, and Sweden.
We are starting to remember why we love days at sea – the pace suits us. You can be as busy (lectures, casino, instruction such as painting, writing, computer usage, photography,) or do absolutely nothing.
I noticed a welcome addition to the limited TV selection – Fox News. I don’t think I could have taken four months of CNN. Sometimes the selection changes as we move around the world, based on satellite positioning. We are so spoiled at home with not only 200 TV channels but high speed Internet. This Internet is glacially slow – about like the old dial up, for those of you old enough to remember.
Hi gram and grandpa!!! Hope y’all have a great time! Love you!!
